CU Boulder has an expansive history of connecting students to the academic and creative life of the campus with significant investments in these transformative experiences dating to 1986 with the creation of the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP). A diverse constellation of programs now form a vibrant, welcoming community for students in all majors. We invite you to explore.
We understand that options can be overwhelming, career paths can be confusing, and doubt can be inhibiting.Ìý Whether you’reÌýplanning an application for funding, working on a project, considering next steps, or just starting to explore your interests,ÌýUROP meets you where you are. We encourage you to stay curious about the ways forward and your own potential to pursue your passions.
There are many ways to get started with undergraduate research and creative work—while expanding your skillset as you explore.
Our Curiosity Lab workshops and resources are designed to introduce you to a range of opportunities, connect you to empowering networks, and provide resources to support your journey. Even if you don't know where you're going, you can expand your network and build skills for the journey ahead. Depending on the time of year, you might also find open opportunities in a wide range of fields.
We welcome proposals from all fields of study and professional practice.
UROP supports projects with student and faculty grants all year, but applications are only awarded annually in the spring. Join the Application Alert List to be notified when applications open, and check out the guides to prepare your proposal in advance.
